STAR Research and Development (R & D) has over 20 years of research, engineering, and product development expertise within the areas of speech production, speech perception, and knowledge-based speech processing. We assist our clients with the research, design, development and testing of signal and acoustic processing technologies.

Our Services

We work closely with research and development, product development teams, management consultants and venture capitalists to:

• design, develop, and produce new speech and voice technologies;
• assess technical merits and market potential of proposed technologies;
• evaluate capabilities and limitations of existing technologies;
• assist with the evaluation, formation and strategy for intellectual property; and
• prepare and review Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR), Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR), Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) and other innovation grant applications

Our Team

The STAR R & D Services team is comprised of accomplished researchers, academics and technologists with Ph.D.'s from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston University, Cornell and Yale. We have made significant research contributions to the field of speech processing and analysis, and we have held academic positions with leading universities.

Our team also understands how to balance research and development with business applications. We have raised money, started companies, launched products and maintained successful business partnerships.
